Notes from Video
• We need to feel positive emotions throughout the day to broaden our perspectives and build our inner resources.
• The slogan “be positive” can lead us to adopt a false and ingenuine positivity. That is not good for our own health or our relationships. So don’t use that slogan.
• Better slogans to adopt include: Be open. Be curious. Be kind. Be grateful. Be real. Be sincere. Be genuine. Be appreciative.
• Give thanks during your day by asking: What in your day could be considered a gift that you can treasure?
• “Gratitude is one of the easiest positive emotions to conjure up out of thin air.” - Dr. Barbara Fredrickson
• Mild and frequent doses of positivity work to broaden our perspectives and build our inner resources.
