PLEASE REGISTER BELOW to attend one of the three Virtual Direct Action Strategy Trainings.
Construction on the Minnesota section of the expanded Line 3 tar sands pipeline may begin in November, violating Anishinaabe treaty rights and endangering water, land, and climate. Line 3 will create the greenhouse gas equivalent of 50 coal-fired power plants — that’s more greenhouse gas than currently produced by the entire state of Minnesota.
Our Direct Action Strategy Training will be hosted on Zoom and complements the Northfield Against Line 3 Direct Action Trainings and the Mindful Direct Action Trainings (MDAT) with new info, including:
• Six principles that provide clear guidance on how to maximize the effectiveness of your direct actions.
• The ins and outs of political jiu-jitsu (also known as "backfire" or the "paradox of repression") which allows us to undermine our opponent’s best weapon of repression, and use it to weaken their power while building our own.
• Several examples of direct action.
* Although this training is for Stop Line 3 water protectors, activists from all social justice movements are welcome to attend. Please come and encourage your friends to do the same.
* You need not have attended other trainings to understand or benefit from this one.
