Our Wellness and Liberation (OWL) Meditation

  • Unny Nambudiripad 342 East 44th Street Minneapolis, MN, 55409 United States (map)

Join us for an Our Wellness and Liberation (OWL) meditation session for animal advocates at Unny’s house.

We'll have a little bit of intro stuff about meditation, compassion, and animal advocacy. We will share a free meal after the event. We appreciate the help from two volunteers to clean up after the meal.

This event is open to animal advocates and their friends. The intentions behind these regular meetings are to come together as a community, deepen our self-understanding, develop compassion towards ourselves and others, and become more loving, peaceful, and joyful animal advocates. This is open to everybody of any or no religion. If you think you're not good at meditation, no problem, this is a practice and we welcome everybody in our journey.

The event will include a 30-minute meditation and time for socializing while eating free vegan snacks.

We welcome all animal advocates and their friends regardless of the kinds of animal advocacy you do, regardless of whatever secular or religious wisdom tradition you believe, regardless of whatever diet you may eat, and regardless of your meditation experience. Please come if you are able. We would love to see you.

Meditations will regularly happen on the second Thursdays of each month at 6 pm. Check back with us on the location for future meditations.

About OWL’s Name

We chose the name Our Wellness and Liberation (OWL) for various reasons. Owls traditionally represent wisdom. Our acronym, OWL, represents the wisdom that we hope this group will help us cultivate and embody so we may live with more ease, purpose, and vitality. "Wellness" shows our desire to develop physical, spiritual, emotional, and social wellness within ourselves and our community. "Liberation" represents the freedom and wellbeing we seek for all human and nonhuman animals. "Our" emphasizes our desire to undertake this journey as a community, where we support each other along the way.
